Some Pictures from the Past Week

Brandon got his haircut at The Wave and then Brandon and Wesley posed for a picture on the surfboard.
Wesley and I went to Middlebrook Movie Theater to see the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks. Middlebrook has free movies every Tuesday and Wednesday during the summer.
Hanging around the house
We went bowling on Sunday. Brandon brought home a flyer on the last day of school that said Kids Bowl Free. I was able to sign both Brandon and Wesley up and they get to bowl two free games everyday this summer if we want.
Yesterday we went to the Ocean Township Pool. My friend Heather came with her kids, Jen and Olivia. All of the kids had so much fun playing in the pool.

Monmouth County Fair

Last Friday night we went to the Monmouth County Fair. Brandon had fun going on the rides. He was tall enough for a lot of the rides finally. Wesley and Brandon both enjoyed climbing on the touch a trucks and looking at the animals. We ran into someone who Stu knows who has a farm with goats. Some of his goats were at the fair so he let us come back and see them which was a big hit with both kids. Brandon also got to do pottery at the fair and make a bowl.

Swim Lessons

Wesley finished his swim lessons last Friday. He took mommy and me swim lessons for 6 sessions with me at Dorbrook Pool through the Monmouth County Park System. As soon as those lessons were done he started group lessons for kids who are 3-4. It was at the same pool which definitely helped with his comfort. He did a great job except for the second lesson where he cried the entire time because he wanted me to be in the pool with him. Here are some pictures from his lessons. He blew bubbles, used a kick board to kick with help from his teacher, practiced using scooping hands with his teachers, jumped off of the side of the pool, floated on his back with his teacher, and picked up a ring from the bottom of the pool. The only thing he wouldn't do is go under.

Sesame Place and Toms River Ice Cream Festival

On Friday afternoon Brandon, Wesley, and I met my parents at Sesame Place. It was the perfect time to go. The lines were not too long at all. We were actually able to walk right onto the roller coaster two times in a row with no wait! Wesley had a lot of fun playing in the wave pool and was the bravest that I have ever seen him in it. Brandon enjoyed going down the water slides and even went down one of them in the tube by himself for the first time instead of in a double tube.
We saw the parade for the first time since Brandon was 2. We usually go to Sesame Place in the morning and leave before the parade starts but this time we were able to see it since we went in the afternoon. Both boys really enjoyed the parade and Brandon was in the parade for a few minutes, jumping over a rope that they put on the ground for the kids.
After the parade we went on the merry go round.
Then we went to see some characters and went to see one of the character shows.
On Saturday afternoon Brandon, Wesley, Stu, and I went to the Toms River Ice Cream Festival with Stu's parents. We got to sample 5 or 6 different local ice creams. Brandon also went on some bounce houses. The ice cream was good but it was ridiculously packed at the festival. We saw some characters there that Brandon got his picture taken with. Wesley refused to go near them.
