Our Weekend

Stu was at a bachelor party all weekend so Brandon, Wesley, and I were home alone for the weekend. We had a busy Saturday. We started off the day by going to the lego event at Toys R Us. There was a scavenger hunt and the kids had to find the clues. At the end they each got a Star Trooper Lego mini figure.
After Toys R Us, we went to Chase's birthday party at Good Sports. Wesley and Chase are in the same class in school but Brandon is good friend's with Chase's brother so he was invited too.
After the party, my friend Nancy came over with her 3 kids for a playdate. Brandon and Justin had fun trading sports cards with each other.

I then brought Brandon and Wesley out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.

On Sunday, Brandon had his last soccer game of the season. They lost to Colts Neck 5-1 but Brandon played really well. He got a soccer ball pin for his soccer bag for playing well. It was a very windy, cold day.

Diggerland

The kids and I are off for a few days for teacher conventions. Stu took Thursday off from work and we went to Diggerland. The kids had a good time but it was very over priced. I think they also expected the rides to be more like they are at Great Adventure. At Diggerland you mostly are driven around a track in a construction vehicle or you can drive one yourself. I think the biggest hit with both Brandon and Wesley was the high ropes course that they had there.

Birthday Party, Football Game, Painting, and Soccer

We had another busy weekend.

After school on Friday, Brandon and Wesley went to a birthday party for Brandon's friend, Shane. Wesley was in invited too since he is friends with Shane's brother, DJ. The birthday party was at a laser tag place. Both kids LOVED playing laser tag.
On Saturday, Stu and Brandon went to the Rutgers football game. Stu's co-worker gave him two tickets for the game. Brandon had a lot of fun.
When they were at the game, Wesley and I went to Pinot's Palette with his friend, Olivia. They had an open session where anyone could come and paint a picture. Wesley chose to paint a picture of birds that he saw.
Yesterday, Brandon had a soccer game. They played Howell and won 4-1. Brandon did really well and had some great kicks. One of the father's there is a photographer. He took a couple of great pictures of Brandon that he sent to me.

Halloween

For Halloween this year both Brandon and Wesley knew exactly what they wanted to dress up as. Brandon wanted to be Bowser from Mario Kart and Wesley wanted to be Mickey Mouse. I couldn't find a Bowser costume to buy so I showed my mom a clip art of what he looks like and she made his costume. It came out great and Brandon absolutely loved it! For Wesley's costume I started off by buying a Mickey hooded sweatshirt that I found at Target. He had compression pants from soccer already that he used for the black legs and I found a pair of red shorts that I bought. I couldn't stop there though. Wesley needed to be exactly like Mickey Mouse according to him. I found yellow crocs which I bought and one of our friends was in Disney World the week before Halloween so she was able to find Mickey Mouse hands which Wesley loved.

Brandon and Wesley had a parade at school on Monday. I wasn't able to go since I had a parade at my school so Stu, my parents, and his parents all went. I also have some friends who texted pictures to me.
I picked the kids up from school when I got home from work, brought them home, and then we went trick or treating. They had so much fun and were both so into it.
Wesley won the Clifford pumpkin that he helped decorate at Project Extend. He was so excited!
