Yesterday afternoon Brandon was sitting on the couch and watching tv. I looked over at him and his eyes were half closed even though he had only been up from his 2 1/2 hour nap for a little over an hour. I went over to him and felt his head and he felt warm so I took his temperature and it was 101.8 degrees. He had a rough night last night sleeping and felt really warm this morning but wouldn't let me take his temperature. He also had no appetitite. So I called the pediatrician and brought him in this morning. The doctor looked at his throat and said it is really red with blisters. She did a strept culture which came back negative so she said he probably has coxsackie. He has been pretty miserable today.
A little over a week ago Brandon was evaluated by the public school to see if he qualifies for free preschool because of his speech. He has been receiving early intervention for speech but when children turn 3 they age out. Brandon talks a ton and strings words together really well for sentences but articulation is hard for him. He did qualify for the public school based on his articulation. So starting in September he will go to school for 2 1/2 hours everyday for free.
I was full term yesterday since I am 37 weeks. I had an appointment earlier in the week and the doctor that I saw thinks I won't make it to my scheduled c section since the baby is measuring so big. If I do make it he thinks the baby will be between 9 and 10 pounds!

Build a Bear
I brought Brandon to Build a Bear today to make a present that he can bring to the hospital in a few weeks for his new brother. He picked out the stuffed dalmatian to make. He loved stepping on the pedal to help stuff the dog. He also picked out what outfit to dress the dog in. He then helped make a birth certificate for the dalmatian. When I asked him what it should be named Brandon said, "dog" so that is the name we put on the birth certificate.

Point Pleasant Rides
Friday was a beautiful day. Stu, Brandon, and I decided to go to Point Pleasant for dinner and rides. We went out to dinner at an outdoor restaurant and then went to the boardwalk where Brandon had a great time going on rides. Each time he got off a ride I would ask him if he was all done or if he wanted to go on more rides and he would tell me more rides. He definitely takes after his mom with his love of rides.

Dad's Retirement Party
My dad retired in February and this past Thursday his office finally had a retirement party for him. Stu, Brandon, and I went to it and it was really nice. His co-workers had a lot of nice things to say about working with him. Brian came in from California for the party and it was really nice to see him too.

It's Going to be a big baby
On Monday morning I went for my weekly appointment at my obgyn. The doctor did an ultrasound and took some measurements of the baby. The baby was estimated to weigh 6 pounds, 11 ounces at 35 1/2 weeks. He said that the baby is measuring at 37 weeks. So it is probably going to be a pretty big baby. The baby was practicing breathing which was neat to see. At this point if I go into labor they won't try to stop it. My c section is scheduled for 3 weeks from today. The painter came yesterday to paint the baby's room and Brandon keeps saying the room is "Mommy Daddy Baby's room."

Brandon's 3rd Birthday Party
We had Brandon's 3rd birthday party yesterday even though he won't be 3 until July 5th. The reason we had it a month early is because my c section is scheduled for 6 days before his birthday. I wanted to make sure we were able to have his party before I give birth to the new baby. We had Brandon's party at Gymboree and he LOVED it. There were 15 kids there in all ranging in age from 1-4 and all of the kids seemed to have blast. They had a mixture of free play and teacher directed activities for an hour which was perfect. The last half hour was spent eating pizza and cupcakes and cookies. When I asked Brandon what kind of party he wanted he said Thomas so we had Thomas plates and decorations and a Thomas cake and Thomas cookies. I also found a shirt on Etsy that I had made for Brandon with a number 3 made out of Thomas material.
