Brandon had his first kindergarten soccer game yesterday. He has the same coach that he had in pre k. Kindergarten soccer plays on a bigger field than pre k and also has a goalie and 7 players on the field. Pre k only had 5 players on the field and no goalie. So it is a big difference. Brandon did really well yesterday. He even dribbled the ball for a little while once.

Big Steps for Little Feet NICU walk
On Sunday we walked in the Big Steps for Little Feet NICU walk. It was our fifth year doing it. The first year we did it Brandon was still in the NICU. The money raised helps the NICU where Brandon spent the first 12 weeks of his life. It is nice going and seeing the nurses and doctors that he had and the other families. They had face painting for the kids, sand art, and games.

Festivals
On Saturday we went to the Point Pleasant seafood festival and then to the Ocean Township fall festival. Brandon and Wesley went on a pony ride at the seafood festival. It was Wesley's first pony ride! Both boys loved it.
After the seafood festival we went to the fall festival. There were free bouncy houses, tattoos, and balloon animals. Stu's fire department was also there giving firetruck rides.

Wildwood
Stu, Brandon, Wesley, and I went to Wildwood this past Saturday to Sunday for the fireman convention. It actually started on Wednesday but we couldn't go until Saturday since it was my first week back at work after the summer and Brandon's first week of school. It worked out well though. We left early on Saturday since the boys are early risers and we were there shortly after everyone woke up for the day. When we got there we went to the tents to see the exhibits. We then went to the parade of firetrucks and then hung out at the motel for awhile and ate dinner there. Brandon was the big boy there. Everyone else was Wesley's age or a little younger. He didn't mind though. I think he is used to that age because of his brother. He played really nicely with the little kids. After dinner we went to the boardwalk. Brandon loves rides so he was so excited to go. Wesley decided that some rides aren't so bad. He loved going on the boat ride and the merry go round since some of the horses stayed stationary instead of going up and down.

Brandon's First Day of Kindergarten
Brandon's first day of kindergarten was yesterday. He was so excited for school to start. I brought him to before care yesterday morning and he went in happily. He was then in his kindergarten class for the day and then went to aftercare after school. He had fun all day. He told me he liked school and liked his teacher. I couldn't really get out of him what he did all day though. I teach kindergarten so I tried to ask him if he did certain things (write, rest time, if his teacher read a book, etc). He told me yes to everything and that was about the extent of what I got out of him. His teacher this year is Miss Pembleton. He is in full day kindergarten. This is the first year that our school district has full day. His best friend Shane from school last year is in his class along with some other friends from his pre-K classes both at the public school last year and from Ivy Hedge. We have his back to school night next week. I can't wait to see his classroom and meet his teacher.

Wesley's First Day of School, Project Extend, and Kindergarten Orientation
Wesley's first day of school in the beginner classroom was today. He had to be pried off of me and was crying hysterically when I left. When I picked him up at the end of the day they told me he cried all day and then took a nap at 11:15 because he was so tired from crying. He napped until a little before I picked him up at 3:45. When I asked him why he was crying he said, "Mommy". Hopefully it won't take him too long to get over me not being with him all day.
Brandon went to project extend today. He will be going to before and after care once he starts kindergarten next week. Project extend runs before and after care. On days that the school is closed for holidays you can pay $30 and send your child for the day. It isn't at the schools but is at a gym in our town. Brandon had a really good time. He said they played games, watched Tom and Jerry, and played on the playground.
Yesterday was his kindergarten orientation. He was so excited to go. He woke up in the morning and told me he couldn't wait to meet his new teacher and new friends. He actually has one of his best friends from pre-k in his class and several other good friends from pre-k. I think he is going to have a great year. His first day of school is on Monday.
