Wesley's First Soccer Practice

Wesley is playing soccer for the first time this season. His first practice was last night. He was so excited to go to it. His friend Dominic from school is on his team and his friend Ava who he has known his whole life is also on his team. Wesley had a good first practice. He kicked the ball a few times. He is ready for his first game which is tomorrow morning.

Great Adventure

Last Sunday we went to Great Adventure for the first time this season. We have season passes so we will be going a lot throughout the summer. Brandon and Wesley both had a lot of fun. Wesley went on a lot of rides in the kid areas. Brandon was a good sport and went on the rides with Wesley. He also went on two big roller coasters. Both boys loved seeing the characters.

New York Auto Show

We went to the New York Auto Show yesterday. Stu and I used to go together prior to having kids. Once Brandon arrived he started to go with his friend, John, every year. Originally he was supposed to go with John again this year. A few days ago John found out he was going to have to work yesterday so he couldn't go. So we decided to bring the boys this year. They had such a good time. There was a lot for them to do there.

We started off by driving to Weehawkin. There was a special deal that you could pay one price to take the ferry from Weehawkin and it included admission to the auto show which is why we left from there. It was a short ferry ride but the kids enjoyed it. We walked straight to the auto show when we got there. We saw some really cool cars at the show. Brandon and Wesley liked getting to sit in the cars and pretend to drive them. They also were able to build their own trucks for no cost which was a big hit. There was a wheel to spin that they won prizes and there were some video games and a pin ball machine for them to play. They also got autographs from former New York Mets/ New York Yankees player Lee Mazzilli. He was really nice.

Easter Egg Hunt With Friends and Point Pleasant Rides

On Saturday we went to the Walton's house for an Easter egg hunt. The kids, especially Wesley, were so excited to go. There were 4 other families that were also there so a total of 10 kids in all. The kids had a lot of fun finding the eggs.

On Sunday we went to the boardwalk with my parents to go on rides for the first time this season. The weather was beautiful so the rides were packed. Brandon and Wesley still had a lot of fun going on rides. Brandon was a really good sport and went on the slow rides with Wesley since Wesley is just starting to like rides. He did also get to go on some big kid rides; the cat and mouse roller coaster and a dragon that you can make spin around in circles.

Jenkinson's Transportation Trip

Wesley's class went on a field trip yesterday to Jenkinson's Aquarium. They learned about transportation over the past few weeks so they tied that into the trip. First the kids went on a school bus. It was Wesley's first time on a school bus so he was so excited. The school bus brought us to the train station. The kids then took a train to Point Pleasant where the bus picked them up again to drive them to the aquarium. Once we were at the aquarium they divided the class into groups and each group got a tour guide. After our tour of the aquarium we went across the boardwalk to eat. While we were in the aquarium the Easter bunny had come and left the bags the kids made at school filled with candy. The kids had to look for their bags. They then ate lunch. After lunch we went to the gift shop and then had a little extra time so the kids ran around on the beach. It was a really fun trip!
