We had another busy but fun week. Brandon started rec camp this week so he has that every morning from 9-12. The bus picks him up right at our driveway each morning a little after 8 and drops him back off at our driveway around 12:30. He is excited to get to ride the bus since during the school year he can't because he needs to be at school early due to my work.
Stu's Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Charlie were visiting this week as well as his brother and sister-in-law. We went to Stu's parents house to spend a little time with them.
The boys made cookies this week.
They painted on the driveway with sidewalk paint.
We went bowling one day with Wesley's friend, Dominic, that he goes to school with and Dominic's sister, Deanna. One of the bowling alleys near us has free bowling for kids every day of the summer. You just need to sign up ahead of times and pay for shoe rental. The kids all had fun.
Brandon and Wesley ran their first half mile race. Wall Township Recreation has a summer running series. Every Thursday they have a kids 1/2 mile race, a kids 1 mile race, and a 5k open race. Brandon wanted to do the 1/2 mile race and Wesley decided right before it that he also wanted to. He didn't want to run it by himself though so Stu ran with him. Stu also ran in the 5k race. Brandon did an awesome job in the race. He pulled ahead of one of the kids at the end. His time for the 1/2 mile was 3 minutes and 35 seconds which was pretty good.
Yesterday Wesley went to his friend Ava's birthday party. He got to make Olaf out of marshmallows. Then Elsa came. Wesley mostly just watched because he said Elsa was showing the girls how to be princesses and he is not a girl. He did choose a cape to wear for a few minutes when Elsa was helping the kids dress up.
Stu and Brandon went canoeing when we were at the party. Thompson Park has some days that you can canoe for 15 dollars for 3 hours. They didn't go the whole 3 hours but did have fun.

Brandon's 7th Birthday
Brandon turned 7 on July 5th. He started the day with donuts from Broad Street Dough Co. He had a smores donut and an m and m donut.
Brandon then opened his presents from mommy and daddy.
We then went to the beach. Brandon and Wesley had so much fun there. They couldn't go in deep because it was a yellow flag and pretty rough.
We then went to the boardwalk to go on rides and play in the arcade.
When we got home both sets of grandparents came over for dinner and cake. Brandon wanted ice cream cake and I found an ice cream cake at Wegman's that comes white. It comes with sprinkles and frosting for kids to decorate themselves. The kids had fun decorating it.
Happy birthday Brandon!

Seven
This afternoon Brandon had his seven year old well visit. He weighed 40 pounds and was 44 1/2 inches tall. He is between the 5th-10th percentile for both height and weight.
At seven years old, Brandon wears a size small (6-7) shirt and size 6 shorts. He loves to read, do word searches, look at license plates, play scrabble junior, play basketball and soccer, swim, make books, and do art projects. Brandon is always happy no matter what he is doing. The majority of time he has a big smile on his face when doing activities and playing sports. Brandon is a great big brother and often will do things to make Wesley happy and laugh. Brandon has become a really good eater over the past year. He will try most foods and has found several new foods that he likes because of it. He is still not a vegetable eater but loves most fruits. He definitely has a sweet tooth.
Brandon has shown from day 1 what a miracle he is and continues to show us every day.

Four
This morning Wesley had his 4 year old well visit. He weighed 35 pounds and was 39 3/4 inches tall. He is 50th percentile for both height and weight. Wesley had to get one shot at the doctor (MMR) which he was not at all happy about. He started crying just from the anticipation of the shot.
At 4 years old, Wesley wears size 4t shirts and shorts and size 5t pajamas. He is a great sleeper most nights but wakes up early every morning (5:30-6:00). Hopefully that starts to change as he gets older.
Wesley has come out of his shy shell a lot this year. He is a very funny little boy. He LOVES his family and friends, especially Brandon. The two of them are each other's best friend but can also be each other's worst enemy. Wesley still doesn't like loud noises but has gotten better at dealing with some. For example, now when he hears fire truck sirens he puts his hands over his ears. Wesley likes Paw Patrol, Ninja Turtles, Superheroes, legos, games, puzzles, art projects, putting things together, and just playing in general. His favorite foods are probably fruits and vegetables, especially carrots. He will ask for more carrots over and over again. Some other favorites are corn dogs, pasta with butter, m and m yogurt and oreo yogurt, peanut butter sandwiches, cream cheese sandwiches, chocolate ice cream, chicken nuggets, applesauce pouches, pancakes, and waffles. Wesley completes our family and I couldn't imagine him not being a part of it.

Silton
This morning we went to see Wesley swim at Silton. Every Saturday they have a day that the parents can come and watch what the kids have learned to do. Brandon couldn't go today since he woke up sick. Wesley did a great job. I really am so impressed with what he learned how to do in the two weeks that he was at Silton. He learned how to swim by himself from one teacher to the other. He also learned how to swim with his face in the water. He can now jump in the water and go under and kick his way up to the top.
Even though we didn't see Brandon today he also improved a lot.
