Hannah and Avery's Birthday Party

Last Sunday Brandon, Stu, and I went to Hannah and Avery's second birthday party. It was at their house. A lot of our other preemie friends were there too and a few of Brandon's primary nurses from the NICU. Brandon had a lot of fun at the party. He especially loved the bounce house.

Halloween Parade

Brandon went to a Halloween parade on Friday with my babysitter and her two year old daughter to watch her two older kids. He had a great time at the parade and even let Erin put the dog head on his costume which he wouldn't let me do.

Climbing

Brandon is such a monkey. He loves to climb. Yesterday he pushed his toy ride on firetruck behind the couch and stood on top of it so he could climb over the top of the couch. When he wanted to get off of the couch he scooted backwards and climbed over the arm of the couch. Both ways have become his new favorite way to get on and off of the couch. Jen's Birthday Party

Stu, Brandon, and I went to Jen's birthday party today at Allaire State Park. It was a train birthday party so we got to ride on the train around the park. It was Brandon's first time going on the train there and he loved it. He cried when it was time to get off. Brandon especially loved playing with the rocks near the train.

Before the party we had a short visit with Uncle Brian and Aunt Laura who stopped by on their way home from a wedding. It was nice seeing them.

Roseola

Brandon came down with a fever on Monday. He wasn't acting sick but his babysitter mentioned to me that she had to wake him after a 3 hour nap and he still seemed really tired to her. He hadn't slept great the night before so I thought at first that was why he was really tired but then he was having a hard time keeping his eyes open in the car during a 10 minute drive after being awake for 30 minutes after his 3 hour nap. I felt his head and it felt warm so when we got home I took his temperature and it was 101.6. He didn't have any symptoms but had the fever that the tylenol would lower but not knock out of his system. I couldn't give him motrin because when I tried he threw it up since he didn't like the taste of it. His fever got as high as 104 on Tuesday after work so I brought him to the pediatrician and she agreed that he had no symptoms (ears and throat looked good). He ran a fever, over 103 at times, until it finally broke on Thursday afternoon. Thursday morning he was miserable. He threw up a few times and had diarrhea. Yesterday afternoon I noticed he had a rash on his back and shoulders and part of his face and was acting really irritable. The pediatrician wanted me to bring him in and it turns out he has roseola. Hopefully he will be back to himself in a few days. He is still really irritable. He weighed 23 pounds, 11 ounces yesterday and that is after not eating much all week. So I am guessing he had finally cleared 24 pounds.

Touch a Truck

Stu, Brandon, my parents, Stu's parents, and I went to Touch a Truck today. It was in the parking lot where the Blue Claws play. There were all kinds of trucks to climb in and pretend to drive. Brandon didn't really like sitting in the trucks. I think because they were pretty high off of the ground. He loved a bus called the fun bus. It had all kinds of gymnastics things in it and then to get off of the bus you had to go down a slide. He also loved going in the bounce house. After we saw the trucks we went onto the field and ran around. We had a lot of fun.

Animal Sounds

Brandon has started making animal sounds when you ask him what sounds different animals make. He is really good at the sheep sound. Some of the other animals he only says the beginning sounds. He has been trying so hard. I got him on video tonight saying some of the sounds. I especially love the sound he makes for what Hershey says (our dog). Hershey pants a lot so Brandon thinks that is what he says.
