Cookie Decorating

I went to Wesley's school today for cookie decorating. He was so happy to have me there to help him decorate cookies and he had so much fun doing it. I got there when he was walking downstairs with the other kids. He thought I was there to bring him home and told me he wanted to go downstairs. When I told him I was there to help him he was so happy. His friend Ava and her mom sat with us. I think Wesley was covered in more frosting on him than he got on his cookies but at least he loved decorating the cookies. They also were able to decorate the box that the cookies were going in with cookies which he loved. It was pajama day so he wore snowman pajamas to school.

Snow Fun

It snowed again today and the boys couldn't wait to go outside. We were able to make a pretty big snowman this time since the snow was able to pack this time.

Sick Kids

The kids have been sick on and off for the past month. Brandon had strep throat twice. The first time he was put on amoxicillin. He finished it and 24 hours later was sick again. I brought him back to the doctor and he had strep throat again. He was then put on augmentin and it finally went away. I picked Brandon up from after care on Thursday and the first thing he told me was his throat hurt. When we got home I saw that he had a fever. Our pediatrician had closed for the day and I was sure it was strept again so I brought him to a walk in place near here. The rapid strep test came back negative for strep. It was confirmed yesterday when they called to give me the results of the throat culture they sent out. So it appears to be a virus this time. He has mostly had a sore throat and fever which has gotten as high as almost 104 a few times. He has been acting a lot better since yesterday but when I checked his fever this morning I am still getting 100.3. I am not sure if it will go up later today or stay there/ go away. I am hoping it goes away since this is day 5 of a fever.

Wesley is currently healthy but a few weeks ago was complaining that his ear hurt. I brought him to the doctor and he had a minor ear infection. He also had been coughing and when the doctor listened to him he told me he was wheezing so he needed to use the nebulizer for 7 days. On Thanksgiving morning he woke up with a stomach virus which he was thankfully better the next day. Keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't get whatever Brandon has going on right now.

Gingerbread Man

Brandon's class was decorating gingerbread houses on Friday and invited the parents in to help. Brandon was sick on Friday and was upset once he realized he would be missing it. I told him I would buy stuff for him to make a gingerbread house at home. When I went to the store today they only had stuff to decorate a gingerbread man so he decided that was okay.

First Snowfall of the Season

It started snowing outside this afternoon. I bundled up Brandon and Wesley and we went outside to play. Brandon loved it. Wesley was terrified of the snow at first. He finally started playing in it and building a small snowman and seemed to like it.

Breakfast With Santa

This morning I brought Wesley to breakfast with Santa at Stu's fire house. Brandon was sick so he stayed at home with his grandma. Before we went to the fire house Wesley seemed excited to see Santa. He has been watching Mickey Saves Santa on Disney Jr. so he kept saying Mickey Mouse and Santa are friends. When we first got to the fire house he saw a light up Santa. He walked over to it and asked me if that was Santa. I told him it was Santa but not the Santa we were going to see. We then walked into the room where the breakfast was and Wesley noticed Santa and clung to me and refused to sit down for a little while. He finally sat down but told me he didn't like Santa and that he was going to stay in his seat by himself when I went to see Santa. He finally decided to come see Santa and after clinging to me for a few minutes did let me put him down and was willing to stand in front of Santa.
