Last Day of First Grade

Brandon's last day of school was today. He had a really good year. He loved his teacher and she seemed to be a good fit for him. I am still not very impressed with the reading program in our school district but Brandon definitely learned a lot in math this year. He loved project extend (before and after care) again too this year. It is hard to believe that he is going to be in 2nd grade when school starts again.

Last Day of Nursery

Wesley's last day of school was yesterday. He was in the nursery room at school this year. Next year he will be in pre K which is crazy. Wesley had such a great year at school. He had fantastic teachers who he loved. They taught him so much this year. He can hold a pencil the correct way, cut with scissors correctly, write his name, write all of the letters in the alphabet, and knows the Spanish colors. He loved doing projects at school. He made some really good friends this year. We have been at a lot of parties lately and the kids in his class are really good, nice kids. Wesley woke up this morning and immediately said that he misses school, his teachers, and his friends.

Cousins

Brandon and Wesley had a brief visit with their cousin Zack this weekend due to it being our crazy weekend of parties. They were very happy to see him and sad that they couldn't spend more time with him.

Parties

The kids have had a ridiculous amount of parties over the past two weekends.

Last Saturday our family went to Travis' first birthday party. It was at fireman's field and they had a bounce house set up for the kids to play on. Both kids had a lot of fun. They especially liked decorating their own cupcakes.

Later that afternoon/ evening Wesley went to a party at his friend, Michail's house. Michail used to go to school with Wesley. The fun bus came to the party which was a big hit with the kids.

On Friday afternoon Brandon and Wesley went to Colin's 4th birthday. I work with his mom. Then on Saturday we had two parties. The first party was for Olivia who was turning 5. Her party was at Five Star Aquatics. Both boys had so much fun swimming at the party.

After Olivia's party our family went to a college graduation party for our friends Mallory and Taylor. They have babysat for the kids before and Stu is on the fire department with their father. They have a pool so the kids spent most of the afternoon swimming again. Brandon can really swim now. He did a great job. His friend, Gracie, from school was at the party so he spent most of the time playing with her. He also went off of the diving board for the first time ever and loved it.

This morning Wesley went to a birthday party for Jack and Ava who he goes to school with. It was at Bounce U. He had fun bouncing in the bounce houses.

Then in the afternoon both kids went to a party for their friend Rebecca who turned 4. It was at Paint a tee. Brandon chose to make a shirt with different sports balls on it and Wesley made a shirt with a few balls and a tiger. They both worked really hard on their shirts.

Wesley had to leave Rebecca's party early because he had his friend Jack's party to go to at Good Sports. It was a pool party with kids from his class at school. All of the kids had such a good time.

Last Socccer Games of the Season

Brandon had his last soccer game for this season a week ago. He really grew so much as a player this season and seemed to really enjoy playing indoor soccer on a smaller team than usual. The weekly clinics that he had were great and his coach was good too. Brandon got a medal at his last game.

Wesley's last game of the season was yesterday. Wesley definitely started liking soccer more this season but I still can't decide if it is something he is going to want to continue to play. He is back and forth about if he is doing it next season. He was saying he was and then yesterday said he wasn't. I think a big part of it with him was he didn't really learn a lot this season due to cancelled practices and games that were not made up.

Brandon's Art Show

Brandon had his art show at his school tonight. Wesley, Brandon, and I went to it. Stu couldn't come since he was teaching at the fire academy. Brandon found his picture that the art teacher selected for the show when we got there. He was so excited to see it. They had art activities to participate in at the art show so Brandon and Wesley did a few of those. They were also excited to get treats at the bake fair that was set up. A girl that is in Wesley's class at school was also at the art show so he was really excited to see her and spent awhile coloring with her.

Strawberry Picking

On Sunday we decided to go strawberry picking. Brandon and Wesley both had fun picking strawberries. Wesley's only complaint was that we did it too fast. I think he would have picked strawberries all day if we let him.
