Week 1 summer Karen/ Week 13 Brandon and Wesley

Brandon and Wesley just finished their last full week of school. They have one more day on Monday and then they are done! This was a pretty light week for both of them at school. I started virtual tutoring this week and will add in a few more kids this coming week.

Last Sunday morning I brought Missy on a walk around the block. When I brought her into the yard when we got back this is what I saw.
Later that day we went to the beach. We sat with the Green's and Caramanica's. We definitely are a beach group this summer which is nice. The kids love seeing peers and it is nice to see our friends too.
We had Rebecca's drive by birthday parade.
We had field day for Wesley's school. Of course he chose the water activities to do.
Wesley made a squishy pal with duct tape for his Gifted and Talented class.
The big question. We still do not know what is happening with school next year.
They love Missy so much.
We went on a walk around a lake in West Long Branch.
She found the dog in the mirror.
Ready to drop off his library books and text books at school.
Wesley's school had a virtual award ceremony on Friday. He got 3 awards. The maker space award, book club award, and the Janet Haberl Extra step award for doing more than you had to or for helping others.
A visit to the eye doctor. So sad this is how we need to go out in public now.
The town next to the one I grew up in, where I went to high school, opened a brewery on Thursday. Right now they are selling cans only because of coronavirus but I ordered all 4 of their beers to try. So good so far!
With 3 of my co-workers. We helped pass out the students belongings to them. It was Super Hero theme day.

Week 13 Karen/ Week 12 Brandon and Wesley

My last week of school was this week. I made it through virtual teaching and the school year. Brandon and Wesley have a little more than a week left until they are also done.

We went to the beach on Sunday. It was a perfect beach day. Both boys went in the water. We sat with the Green's and Caramanica's. A ladybug landed on Brandon's bathing suit which he loved.
Reading some chapters for social studies
Brandon got a new bike. His old one was way too small.
Missy snuggles
We went to Wesley's school to drop off the library books he still had at home and pick up everything that he still had at school.
My last day of school.
Nature pattern for music.
Reading the last few chapters in Maniac Magee for ELA.
Haircuts
A new national holiday
We went to my co-worker's house yesterday. The kids had so much fun swimming in her pool.

Week 12 Karen/ Week 11 Brandon and Wesley

One more week of virtual teaching for me! Brandon and Wesley will still have school until June 22nd but we have an end in sight (for now). We still do not know what next year will look like for school. Unfortunately we found out on Friday that rec camp was canceled for this summer. It will be a long summer. We do plan on going to the beach club every day if it is nice out so we have something to do.

We went to the safari at Great Adventure on Sunday. Great Adventure is still closed but they recently made the safari a drive through experience like it used to be. The kids and I have membership passes so it was free for us. We just had to pay $10 to bring Stu with us.
Missy
Wesley finished his painting of Gus. He now wants to make one of Hershey and Missy so he has all 3 dogs he has had.
We went on a walk at Weltz Park after work/school one day.
OTES teacher parade drive by- Wesley was so excited to see his teacher. We watched from the corner of his friends, Kenzie and Kelsie's, house. Lucy and her brother Luke also watched from the same area.
Celebrating National Doughnut Day with doughnuts from Broad Street Do Co.
We found baby blue jays in our yard yesterday. They were too young to fly but animal control did not take them since they said they are not sick.
