Playing at the Park

It was such a nice day today so after the March for Babies we went to the park to play. Brandon loved going on all of the slides and found a little girl to play with. Wesley loved going on the swing. He kept laughing and kicking his legs happily when he was on it.

March for Babies

Stu, Brandon, Wesley, my parents, Stu's parents, and I walked in the March of Dimes March for Babies today in Asbury Park. There was a great turn out there and the weather was beautiful. After the walk we spent some time hanging out where the tents were. They had a band playing, hot dogs, hamburgers, coffee, popcorn, and donuts, face painting, and home depot there doing a craft with the kids. Brandon and I made a toolbox together. He helped hammer in the nails and decorated the toolbox with stickers.

10 Months Old

How is it that my baby is 10 months old today? I can't believe he will be 1 in two months. I don't have a current weight or length on Wesley since he doesn't go back to the pediatrician until he turns 1. He is wearing size 12-18 month clothes, a size 3 diaper, and size 4 shoes. He sleeps through the night from 8:00 at night until anytime between 6-7 usually. There is an occassional earlier morning or later morning but that is when he wakes up most of the time. He takes two good naps a day. He loves playing with his toys, eating, and his brother. He is a great eater. He eats any baby food that is given to him (still eating stage 2). He recently figured out how to pick up and eat puffs which he enjoys. Wesley can get into a crawl position but is still not crawling. He will lower himself to his stomach and roll to get where he wants to go. He can pull himself to his knees.

Beach Ball

What Wesley Is Up To

Wesley is still not crawling. He will get into a crawl position on all fours and rock back and forth like he is going to crawl but then he slowly lowers himself onto his stomach. He rolls to get where he wants to go and pivots himself when he is sitting so he can get around. Wesley loves standing and would probably stand all day if we would let him. He locks his legs often when we try to sit him down. He can stand holding onto things by himself. Maybe he will walk before he crawls. Wesley now knows how to clap his hands, wave, and give high fives.

Cheesy Smile

My camera battery was broken and I finally got a new one. I took some pictures of Wesley yesterday and this is the new smile he was giving me.

Toilet Trained

Brandon is finally toilet trained and has been for almost 2 weeks. I started trying at the end of December but he refused to let me put him in underwear. He only wanted to wear diapers. So I would take the diaper off for him to try to use the potty and then put one back on. He was going on the potty sometimes and at other times was going in his diaper. By the end of trying for three days he was probably about 50-75 percent trained depending on the day. I finally told him that when the diapers were gone I wasn't buying anymore and he would have to start wearing pull ups instead. He was fine with that and we switched to pull ups sometime in February. He was still only 50-75 percent trained depending on the day because I guess he figured pull ups were similar to diapers. I finally told him when the pull ups were done he was going to start wearing underwear like a big boy. I had been waiting for when Brandon and I would be off together to try training him but we didn't have any breaks that coincided. Finally I put him in underwear on the Monday of his Spring Break. He had two accidents that day and hasn't had a pee one since. Poop is a different story. He has always had constipation issues. He now takes 1 tsp of miralax every day to help with it but still goes days without pooping. Most days he asks for a pull up to poop in but has pooped on the potty sometimes. I know he will get there with pooping on the potty and won't always be going in a pull up.

Wesley From Last Week

Our computer broke last weekend and my battery from my computer also stopped working so I haven't had a chance to take pictures this week. Here are some pictures of Wesley from last week. He is so close to crawling. He gets onto all 4s and rocks back and forth but when he goes to crawl gets on his belly and can't move himself forward. He is pulling up onto his knees all of the time. I think it is only a matter of time until he is crawling and pulling to stand.

Clap Hands

Wesley's new trick is that he can clap his hands. He LOVES doing it. This morning when I went to his room to get him out of his crib after he woke up he was lying down clapping his hands. So cute! Click on the video to see him clap his hands. You can even see Brandon getting in on the action by clapping his hands and feet.

Playground With Grandma Marsha and Papa Earle

We went to my parent's house yesterday for my mom's birthday and Passover. We had some time before dinner so we went to Wiltshire Park with my parents. I remember going there when I was younger. It has changed a lot. They took down the swings and play structures that were there and put up two new ones. Brandon really enjoyed playing there. He especially loved the tunnel slide and rock wall. Wesley enjoyed swinging this time and not just sitting in the swing.

Watching Daddy Race

Yesterday Brandon, Wesley, and I went to watch Stu run in a 5k in Long Branch. Stu had his best time on the run. Brandon was so excited to see Stu run and kept saying, "Go Daddy."
