Superbowl Day/ Spirit Day

Wesley had Superbowl Day at school today and Brandon had a spirit day where the students wore their favorite sports team shirt. They got to wear their Steelers clothes for it.

Good Morning

Brandon woke up this morning and came downstairs to watch tv. A little while later Wesley woke up and I brought him down. He said good morning to Brandon and Brandon told him that he looked really happy this morning. A little while later I looked over at the couch and this is how the two of them were sitting and watching tv.

Special Child of the Week

Brandon's kindergarten class has a special child of the week each week. This week it was Brandon's week. He brought in 10 pictures on Monday which were hung on a bulletin board for the week. Today Stu and I were invited in to his class. First his teacher asked him and us some questions. Then Brandon and his classmates did two songs and dances that they have learned. It was really cute. Brandon was so excited for us to come in and meet his friends.

Bowling

On Sunday morning we brought Brandon and Wesley bowling for the first time. They both had so much fun and really got into it.

Hershey and Wesley

A few nights ago, on the way up to bed, Wesley wanted his picture taken with Hershey.

Snow Day

Brandon, Wesley, and I had the day off from school today because of the snow. This morning Brandon and Wesley built with legos.
They then played with leap frog toys.
Then we made snow cream with the snow. I found the recipe on the internet and it was a huge hit with Brandon. Wesley wouldn't eat it since he doesn't eat ice cream because it is too cold. To make snow cream you mix 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla in a bowl. You then add 4-6 cups of snow and mix. It really tastes like ice cream but the consistency is different. Wesley helped make it even though he didn't eat it.
Stu came home from work early so once Wesley woke up we went outside to play and sled.

Puppy and Doggy

Doggy has been Wesley's lovey since he was a baby and continues to be. He needs to sleep with doggy and carries him around with him in the day. He recently started telling me that doggy is his best friend.

Wesley started using puppy sometime in the summer and quickly attached to puppy too. Puppy is a wubanub and came with one of Wesley's pacifiers sewed into his mouth. Once Wesley attached to puppy I stopped giving him any of his other pacifiers in the hopes that it would make it easier to stop using them when the time came. I really thought it would be hard once it was time to get rid of the pacifier since puppy is attached to it and figured when the time came I would just cut it out of his mouth. A few weeks ago I noticed that the pacifier had a slit in it from Wesley using it so much when he was sleeping. He noticed it too and I realized he was not using it as much since it probably didn't feel as good. On Sunday night Wesley started off bedtime with his puppy in his mouth. He then handed me it and said, "Here you go. Me don't want to use puppy" and hasn't used it since. I can't believe he weaned himself from his pacifier on his own. It was much easier than I thought it would.

This picture is from one of the last times Wesley used puppy.

Drawing and Doing Puzzles

Wesley has been very into drawing on the white board and chalk board easel lately. He also loves doing puzzles. He did the color puzzle all by himself. He knew to match up all of the like colors and was able to do it! He was so proud of himself when it was finished.

Brandon is 5 1/2

Brandon turned 5 1/2 on January 5th.

At 5 1/2 Brandon is in the middle of kindergarten. He loves going to school and especially likes before and after care since the older kids really are very nice to the kindergarteners and give them a lot of attention. Brandon reads books by himself. If I were to guess I would say he is probably at least on a second grade reading level. He loves to read. His favorite books right now are the Piggie and Elephant series by Mo Willems.

Brandon continues to love everything electronic. He loves playing Wii, his leap pad, Wesley's leapster, and on the computer.

He likes all shows on Disney Jr. Doc McStuffins is still one of his favorites. He also likes a lot of shows still on Nick Jr.

Brandon is a great big brother and really loves Wesley. Although the two of them have started fighting like brothers fight more and more. In the end they really do love each other and would do anything for each other.

Brandon loves to draw pictures and his latest thing is making cards for everything. He can write a lot of words on is own and if he can't asks how to spell things. His drawing has really matured since starting kindergarten.

Brandon is probably 33 or 34 pounds and maybe 40-41 inches. He goes to the allergy and asthma doctor in February so I will get exact weight and height then. He wears a size 5 shirt, size 4 pants, and size 9 1/2 shoe.
