He Keeps Me On My Feet

Sesame Place- 2nd Visit

Brandon, Wesley, my dad, and I went to Sesame Place on Tuesday. We have season passes this year so we decided to go when it first opened and stayed about 3 1/2 hours which was the perfect amount of time. Both boys napped on the way home. We went to the spray park there and after lunch Brandon went on some rides.

Sick

Brandon and Wesley have both been sick for the past few days. Brandon woke up sounding congested on Thursday. He had his appointment at the pulmonologist which I was happy about since he would be able to listen to him. He said his lungs sounded clear but he did mention that he had some fluid in his ear. When we got home I called the ent to let him know. While waiting for a call back from him Brandon took a 3 hour nap which is not like him. He woke up with a fever so when the ent called back he decided to call in a prescription for omnicef since he said he probably had an ear infection. The next morning Brandon woke up with an awful cough. I brought him to the pediatrician and he said he was wheezing so said to start using his inhaler.

Wesley woke up with a fever on Friday morning. I brought him to the pediatrician when I brought Brandon and it turns out he has a double ear infection. The doctor put him on omnicef too. He has been just miserable and has been running a high fever (woke up with 103.9 this morning). He also woke up dry heaving in the middle of the night. And Brandon threw up this afternoon. Not sure if it is the antibiotic messing with their stomachs or if they have a stomach bug on top of everything.

Point Pleasant

We went to the boardwalk at Point Pleasant last weekend with my parents. Brandon had fun going on rides and was so excited that he was able to make the helicopter fly all by himself. After rides we went back to my parent's beach house for a little while and then we went to the Jazz Festival in Point Pleasant Boro. Stu's parents came with us also to the Jazz Festival. They had a playground there that Brandon loved playing on and it was nice listening to the music.

Determined

Wesley is very into climbing everything that he can lately. He loves to climb up all steps. We have three steps that lead into the back of our basement from the finished part of our basement. He kept climbing them a few days ago so I finally put the laundry baskets in front of the steps to stop him. I went into the back of the basement to put in laundry and when I came back this is what I saw. He apparently wasn't going to let anything stop him from doing what he wanted to do.

Boardwalk with Friends

Last week Stu, Brandon, Wesley, and I went to Point Pleasant Boardwalk with the Green's, Sorrentino's, and Walton's. We went for Stefanie's birthday. The kids had fun going on the rides and then we went to get food and ice cream on the boardwalk for dinner.

Sesame Place

On Thursday Stu, Brandon, Wesley, my parents, and I went to Sesame Place for the day. My aunt, uncle, and their two oldest grandchildren were there visiting from Massachusettes so we wanted to see them. We got there early and had a breakfast with Elmo and friends. It was fun. Then we went on some dry rides and played in the wave pool. I brought Brandon on the roller coaster and he cried hysterically after going down the first drop. He also wasn't a huge fan of the tube water slide that he went on with me. He did have fun on the flying Elmo ride and the hot air balloon ride.

Wesley's 1 Year Well Visit and Allergy Appointment

Wesley had his 1 year well visit appointment on Friday. I didn't know if he would be ok to have it originally since he had roseola all last week but even though he still had the rash from it he was ok since he didn't have the fever anymore. Wesley weighs 22 pounds, 8 ounces (50th percentile) and is 30 1/2 inches long (75th percentile). His head circumference is also in the 50th percentile. Wesley had three shots which he wasn't happy about (chicken pox, tb, and I don't remember the third). Wesley is currently wearing a size 4 diaper and 18-24 month clothes. He drinks 4 bottles a day (just plays with a sippy cup when we give it to him) and eats 3 meals a day. He is finally starting to like finger foods. He eats puffs, cheerios, and wagon wheels. He also recently tried graham crackers and goldfish crackers and liked both and with his lunch today he tried some pancake. He loves ALL baby food. Wesley loves to play with his toys. He loves things that play music and dances to the music when he hears it. He also loves his brother and wants to be where he is at all times and doing what he is doing at all times. Wesley has four teeth but is on the verge of having four more cut through. He sleeps through the night. He usually has a bottle between 7:30-7:45 and sleeps until around 6. For a little while he was getting up around 5:15-5:30 but that seems to finally have passed. Today he even woke up at 6:40 so he is going in the right direction with sleeping a little later. He takes two good naps a day. Wesley took his first steps today. Stu was playing with him and let go and he took 4 steps. Wesley had an allergy appointment today to check to see if he has a milk allergy or intolerance. He has an intolerance. He can't have milk, yogurt, ice cream, pudding, etc. by itself but the doctor said we can try things that have milk baked with them. She said we could also try lactaid ice cream, yogurt, and milk and see how he does with them. She wants me to call her back in 3 months to see what we should do next as far as trying things since people can outgrow an intolerance.

Brandon's 4th Birthday

Brandon turned 4 on July 5th. I can't believe he is 4 already and that everything that happened with him being born so early and being in the NICU was 4 years ago. Sometimes it feels like it was so long ago that we went through all of that with him and other days it feels like it was yesterday. He has come such a long way since he was born weighing only 1 pound, 14 ounces. His well visit is in a week from tomorrow and I am curious to see his stats. He is currently wearing 3t shorts and pants (he is skinny) and 4t shirts. He is fully potty trained. He talks in full sentences and has an amazing vocabulary. He runs, jumps, and plays just like any 4 year old boy. He loves doing projects and building towers out of blocks, legos, etc. He loves Wesley most of the time although he is dealing with having a mobile brother who wants to do exactly what he is doing at the same exact time. He is a very sweet, affectionate boy. He finished his first year of preschool and LOVED it. This year for his birthday Brandon said he wanted a blue bike. We gave it to him the night before his birthday and he was so excited. He is a little nervous to ride it because it is hard to balance on it but I think once he gets used to it he will love it. Brandon was very into opening his presents this year. Each time he opened a present he said, "Wow" in awe. On the morning of his birthday Brandon enjoyed a birthday donut. It is a new tradition that we started this year. Grandma Marsha and Papa Earle watched the boys so that I could go with Stu to his eye appointment. They both had fun playing outside in the pool and water table. Both sets of grandparents were here for dinner and then Brandon had a Wubbzy birthday cake that I made.
