Friend Time and a Soccer Game

This week we did some fun things with friends. On Wednesday, I brought Brandon and Wesley to the Dorbrook Spray Ground. It had been closed all summer since they were renovating it and it finally reopened. My friend, Nancy, met me there with her kids, Justin, Colin, and Norah.
On Thursday, Brandon, Wesley, and I met Wesley's friends, Kennedy and Olivia, and their moms at Hurricane Harbor. The four kids had so much fun together going on water slides, the lazy river, and the wave pool.
National Dog Day was on Friday. Brandon and Wesley posed with Hershey for a picture.
This whole past week Brandon had soccer boot camp. He had practice every day from 4:00-6:00 with a trainer. He really enjoyed it a lot and seemed to learn a lot from it. On Friday night, his travel soccer team went to the Monmouth University soccer game. They played on the field at half time. It was a little chaotic since everyone was wearing the same color but the kids seemed to have fun. We stayed for the rest of the game which ended in a tie.
Yesterday, we went to a Bar Mitzvah for Steven. I teach with his mom, Shellie. We sat with my co-worker, Gina, and her boyfriend. Brandon and Wesley had a fun time.
After the Bar Mitzvah, we went to our neighbor's house for awhile since they were having a party and then we went to our friends, The Perry's. Wesley went to school with Joey and Maddy Perry. There were a few other families there too.

Adult Getaway

Stu and I went away from last Thursday to Sunday. Brandon and Wesley stayed with my parents so that we could go away. It was a vacation for our 10 year anniversary which was in March. We went to Lake George from Thursday to Saturday. We stayed at the Green Haven Resort which I found online. It was perfect. The owners were so nice and the place was really nice too.
When we got to Lake George on Thursday, the first thing we did was go see the Budweiser Clydesdales that were in town for a few hours. They were beautiful. We watched them unload, then got to go up close, and finally watched them parade around the circle before they went to parade through town.
After seeing the Clydesdales, we walked around town for awhile. We then went to the Adirondack Brewery for some drinks and dinner and then went to another bar on the water where we watched the fireworks over the lake.

On Friday, we went to Bolton to do a high ropes course. There were five different ropes courses to get through. I made it through all 5. Stu stopped after the first 2. Each one got harder and higher. My favorite part of the course was the zip lining that each course had.
After the ropes, we went back to Lake George. We walked around town and then had dinner at a restaurant on the lake. We also went through the House of Frankenstein wax museum.
On Saturday, we left Lake George and drove to Long Island. Toad the Wet Sprocket and Rusted Root were playing at The Paramount in Long Island. Stu has always wanted to see Toad the Wet Sprocket in concert so we decided to go.

Our Week

Last week Brandon and Wesley got their haircuts. They love where they go since there are toys and a Wii to play while waiting for their turn. They also get treats from the person who cuts their hair when they are done.
After haircuts we went to visit Stu at work and get a tour of the landfill. The highlight of the trip to the landfill was the falcons. One of the falconers showed us a few of the falcons up close and told us all about them. Brandon and Wesley even got to touch one of the falcons!
The big highlight of the week was Brandon and Wesley going to their first Yankees game. Brandon was very into the game. Wesley watched bits and pieces of it. They both said they had a really good time at the game.
