Wesley is 2 1/2 today. I can't believe he is halfway to 3!
At 2 1/2 Wesley talks non stop. He has a great vocabulary. He knows all of his shapes including hexagon and cylinder, his colors, and his letters. He loves to play. His favorite toys are legos, blocks, tinker toys, and his Sesame Street k'nex toys. Wesley loves to play with his big brother. His favorite show is Mickey Mouse. He also loves Elmo.
Wesley wears a size 2t in pants and shirts and a 3t in pajamas. He wears a size 5 diaper. We tried to toilet train earlier in the week but it is definitely on his terms. He will go when he wants and not go when he wants. He wears a size 7 1/2 shoe.
Wesley has an amazing personality. He makes us laugh all of the time. He definitely completes our family.
The temperature today was 57 degrees which is unseasonably warm. We took advantage of it this afternoon and went out back to play. Our next door neighbor's moved a few weeks ago and gave us their trampoline so the boys were finally able to use it. Brandon loved it. Wesley was scared on it after he fell the first time. He finally wound up liking it after Stu sat in it and held his hands when he jumped.
Stu, Brandon, Wesley, and I went to New York yesterday for the day. We took the train in and Brandon's friend Isaac from aftercare was also going to New York so the two of them sat together. He was also on our train on the way home so they sat together again on the way home. We went to the Children's Museum of Manhattan first. It was geared towards ages 2-6 so both kids loved it. There was a Dora exhibit on one floor and a Grinch exhibit with a sock skating rink that was there. After the museum we went to lunch at the Firehouse Tavern nearby. We then went to see the tree in Rockefellar and went to the lego store.
Last night we went to our friends, the Williams', for Christmas Eve. Brandon and Wesley both had a lot of fun. Brandon loved all of the animals that dance and play music and Wesley loved the ornaments on the tree. There was a girl there who is a year older than Brandon and he enjoyed playing with her. Both Brandon and Wesley were so excited to get open their presents. Brandon got a helicopter and Wesley got blocks that he can sort. Both were big hits.
Yesterday we went to my parents house for the afternoon and dinner. My mom won a gingerbread house at her work party earlier in the week so Brandon and Wesley helped her decorate it. They really enjoyed decorating it (although I think they enjoyed eating the candy that goes on it even more!)
My name is Karen and I have been married to my husband Stu for a little over 9 years. I was pregnant with twins and lost our baby girl at 20 1/2 weeks after I had premature rupture of membranes. I stayed pregnant with the other baby and our first child, Brandon Tyler, was born on July 5, 2008 at 26 weeks and 1 day. Our second child, Wesley Matthew, was born full term on June 29, 2011. This blog is documenting our children.
