Nursery Orientation

Wesley had his orientation on Thursday for the nursery class that he will be in this year at Ivy Hedge. He woke up in the morning and every 5 minutes asked if it was time to go yet. He was so happy to go. We got there and he found out he was starting in Miss Robyn's classroom. He didn't know Miss Robyn so he was a little reluctant to go to her room but as soon as he found out he was going to get to do two projects he went in. He made a shape collage and a dot rainbow. Then he got to go into Miss Sue and Miss Karen's room. Both teachers were with him last year at before care so he knew them. He really bonded with Miss Karen last year so he was really excited when he saw her. A little after he got to their room it was time for the parents to go downstairs. His lip started to tremble a little but Miss Sue picked him up and started talking to him and by the time I was walking out of the door he was already smiling. When I came to get him after the parent session he was outside and didn't want to leave.

Fun Weekend

We have had a really fun weekend. On Friday Brandon, Wesley, and I met my friend, Leigh and her sons, Tyler and Travis, at Shark River Hills park. We were there for 2 hours. The boys loved playing on the playground equipment there. Later we came home and went to the pool. We met Wesley's friend, Olivia, from school there and Brandon wound up seeing and playing with Zachary who he knows from Project Extend.
On Saturday we went to the museum at Brookdale Community College. My friend Nancy and her family have a membership there. As part of their membership they were given passes to give to friends so she gave us two. Brandon and Wesley had so much fun. There were two play areas there and also areas where they could do projects. There were also some neat exhibits to look at. My favorite was a goat that was made out of toys.

After the museum we went to Carton Brewery which is in the Atlantic Highlands. It was our first time going. We had a tour and then got to taste the beer. It was really good.
Today we went to Monmouth Race Track for family fun day and a craft beer festival. There was a bounce house, pony rides, face painting, and balloon animals for free. There was also a craft beer festival. We paid 10 dollars and got 20 tickets to try 2 ounce samples of beer.

What We Have Been Up To

This is our last week off before we go back to school. We have been enjoying the past 1 1/2 weeks and plan to enjoy the rest of this week too. This is what we have been up to since we got back from our vacation.

Zack, Ben, and Rich came to visit when Zack was home from college for a few days. Brandon and Wesley loved hanging out with their big cousins. We celebrated Papa Jim's birthday and all 4 boys helped blow out the candles.

We went to a new playground in West Long Branch to play at.

Brandon, Wesley, and I went to Sesame Place one day last week with my parents. Stu was working so he couldn't join us.

We went to Sickles Park in Little Silver twice. The first time we went with our friends, Colin and Justin. The second time we went with our friend, Tyler.

Stu had cataract surgery and came through it with flying colors. We knew when he had his corneal transplant two years ago that there was a strong possibility he would need cataract surgery in a few years. The time came last Thursday. When we went back for his post op the next day he was already seeing better out of his eye than he did before he had his eye issues.

We went to Howell Day. We were looking for something to do and stumbled upon it. They had train rides around the grass field which Wesley loved and bounce houses.

We went to Tori's 4th birthday party. It was at her house. She had a bounce house set up and an inflatable water slide. The water slide was a huge hit with both kids.
