Soccer Game, Birthday Party, Seafood Festival, and Big Steps for Little Feet Walk

Brandon had his third soccer game this season yesterday. He is getting so much better. He had some really good kicks.

After the game Brandon went with my parents to Point Pleasant and I brought Wesley to his friend Justin's birthday party. Justin goes to school with Wesley so there were a lot of boys from his school. Wesley had so much fun. The party was at Bounce U and Wesley loved going on the bounce houses and slides there.

After the party Stu, Wesley, and I joined my parents and Brandon in Point Pleasant for the Seafood Festival.

Today we went to the Big Steps for Little Feet Walk that benefits the NICU where Brandon spent the first 12 weeks of his life. All 4 neonatologists that took care of Brandon were at the walk this year along with some of the nurses that took care of him. We also saw some families that we are friends with there. It is a great walk and something we will continue to do each year to show our gratitude. There was face painting, sand art, and tattoos that Brandon and Wesley enjoyed doing.

Apple Fest

This afternoon we went to the Apple Fest at Delicious Orchards. There were antique cars and an antique fire truck there, a baby cow and grown up cow, apple bobbing, and tattoos. Brandon and Wesley both had fun taking pictures with the fall decorations there.

One Mile Color Run, 5K, and Steelers

This morning I ran a 1 mile color run for a girl who passed away from leukemia last year. Stu ran a 5k for the same girl when I was done with the color run. Brandon and Wesley were at both races cheering us on.

Brandon and Wesley wore their Steelers jerseys in hopes that they would win the football game today.

Brandon's first soccer game of the season

Brandon had his first soccer game for this year yesterday. This year he is on a first/second grade boys team. He did pretty good yesterday. He played a few different positions and listened nicely about what he was supposed to do in each. He also had a good throw in and some good kicks. He has improved so much since he started playing two years ago.

Brandon's 1st Day of First Grade

How is Brandon in first grade already?

His first day of school was on Thursday and when I picked him up he told me he likes Mrs. Kobil, his teacher, a lot. He was very excited about starting first grade and even more excited when he found out so many of his friends were going to be in his class. We have his back to school night on Tuesday and I am looking forward to meeting his teacher and seeing what he is going to be doing in first grade.

Brandon has been just as excited to be back at project extend (before and after care) and has not wanted to leave the past two days when I picked him up since he was having so much fun. I guess that is a good sign.

Wesley's 1st day of Nursery

Wesley had his first day of school today. He woke up very excited to go to school. When we got there he stopped at the door and said he was scared to go in but his teacher came over and started talking to him and he went in okay. I helped him put his backpack and lunchbox away and then brought him into the before care room. A younger child had started crying so that upset Wesley a little but he didn't cry. Ms. Sue picked him up and carried him to the door and he waved goodbye to me happily. When I came to pick him up after school he was really happy and told me he had fun. He told me all about a lollipop project he made and he also told me that he went on the reading tower in one of his rooms.
