Relaxing
Brandon woke up this morning to start his day at 5:50 (I think someone forgot to tell him today was Saturday and he is supposed to sleep in) so I brought him downstairs to watch tv. He lay down on the couch and looked so comfortable watching his show on Nick Jr. Now that it has been getting colder at night I have been putting Brandon in his fleece blanket sleepers at night, especially because he doesn't like to use a blanket. I love the monkey feet on the pajamas that he slept in last night.

Done with DI
Yesterday was Brandon's last day with his DI through early intervention since he started speech therapy the day before. The only thing Jessica, his DI, was working with him on was speech but unfortunately she isn't qualified to teach speech therapy so we had to have someone new start working with Brandon. He has been trying to say so many more words, beginning sounds, ending sounds, over the past month or two so hopefully having speech therapy now will help get him talking a lot. The new word he says all of the time is bye bye. It really is so cute.

Medal Day
This morning Stu was honored in medal day for a rescue that he made on Christmas Day at a structure fire along with three other firefighters in his fire department. Brandon and I went to the ceremony along with Stu's parents and my dad (my mom is away on business so she couldn't come to it). It was a very nice ceremony. Brandon fell asleep in the car on the way home within 2 minutes and slept the whole time we were at the firehouse after the ceremony.
Brandon started saying bye today. He has been waving bye for a long time but now he says bye bye. He sounds so cute because he says it more "buh buh".

Cold or Allergies
Brandon made it through a cold or allergies with no nebulizer! Almost 2 weeks ago he woke up very congested an hour after he went to sleep. He was congested with a horrible runny nose for 10 days. I brought him to the pediatrician 4 days into his congestion to make sure he wasn't wheezing. I didn't hear it but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. The pediatrician confirmed that he wasn't wheezing, just breathing heavily since he was breathing only out of his mouth, and told me to give him benadryl, zyrtec, or claritin. I tried benadryl first but Brandon woke up all 3 nights that I gave it to him after sleeping for 5 hours and was crying hysterical and was inconsolable. I then switched to zyrtec and the crying stopped but instead of making him tired like it should it made him wired. He hasn't needed the zyrtec now for 2 nights so I am hoping he goes to sleep a little more easily tonight.
