Virtual Learning Week 8 Karen/ Week 7 Brandon and Wesley

We finished another week of virtual learning. Unfortunately we found out earlier in the week that school will be closed the rest of the school year. We knew it was coming but still hard to hear. We also found out the first session of rec camp is canceled. We will hear about the other two sessions by June 30th. There will be no bussing for it if the two sessions do happen. So the earliest that Brandon and Wesley will have something to do is on July 20th. We are also still waiting to hear about the beach club. There will definitely be social distancing if we are able to go and other restrictions (talk of lower capacity, possibility of face masks, etc). It will take a long time for things to get back to the way they were before all of this.

Last Sunday we went to the Manasquan Reservoir. We walked the entire way around it which was 5 miles!
This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week (my school celebrates next week for some reason). Wesley's PTA had them do something each day to send to their teachers. The first thing he did was write a chalk message to his teacher that I sent on Monday.
Working on our newest projects- a sand castle bank and picture of Gus
Brandon and Wesley temporarily lost their minds earlier in the week.
Wesley was excited to get mail from his teacher earlier in the week. She sent a Mother's Day project that they did in zoom on Friday and something for them to make for their student teacher whose last day is this week.
Not the news we were hoping for but knew it was coming
I had a virtual pajama party for my class on Monday night. The students came in their pajamas, brought a stuffed animal, we did a calming go noodle, and I read a bed time story. They had so much fun! Wesley came to it with me.
Our new favorite game...hearing things. Tons of laughs.
Another teacher appreciation gift for his teacher
Some funny memes I found this week.
OTES Virtual Art show- Wesley's picture is the space one
Virtual cub scouts. Wesley learned how to whittle a pencil to sharpen it.
Lunch with 6th grade band
Stu went to the beach to take a picture of the flower super moon on Thursday night
Wesley made me a Mother's Day card in his zoom meeting with his teacher on Friday morning. He was so excited that he gave it to me right away.
Brandon's finished bank
Wesley's art project. He had to make something from recycled materials. He made a robot.
The Newman diner is open for breakfast.
One of these puppies will be ours within the next two weeks. Most likely Missy. They are all lab mixes. Two different litters.
Brandon's soccer league is making a video to thank the Front Line workers in Ocean. This is the picture I submitted for it.
